Documents from Clinton years made public

WASHINGTON  — The National Archives plans to release about 4,000 pages of previously confidential documents involving former President Bill Clinton’s administration. Some of the topics include the president’s health care task force and the 9/11 Commission Report.

The papers could shed light on Clinton’s presidency and provide insight into a future presidential candidate: former first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Other topics include national security and Rwanda. There also are records from Clinton speechwriters.

The records are being made available through the Clinton Presidential Library.

The documents are expected to include confidential communications between the former president and his advisers.

They also are expected to include communications involving the former first lady, who was heavily involved in her husband’s unsuccessful health care reform and is considering a 2016 presidential campaign.
