Margaret Gruber, a senior from Monroe, plans to study medicine. She has a 3.9 grade-point average and enjoys calculus and biology.
She is an Academic All-Star, Academic All-State Cross-Country (2007) and First-Team Lenawee County Athletic Association in cross-country. Margaret is also the recipient of the Master of Sports Award for the 2006-07 school year.
She is student council treasurer, National Honor Society secretary, and a member of the varsity cross-country and track teams, and band.
Margaret is a volunteer for St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center's Hippotherapy program, which uses horse riding as a form of therapy for people with disabilities.
"When it comes to school work, Margaret is one of the most consistent and persistent students I have ever had," said Joe Rathke, physics-calculus teacher. "She is always polite and kind when dealing with others."
Margaret is the daughter of John and Mary Gruber.
