IDA, Mich. - Members of Southeast Michigan Motorsports LLC met with area residents in a second meeting last week to discuss the possibility of the creation of a private park for all-terrain vehicle use.
More than 25 people were in attendance, Donald Appleman, township clerk, said.
Charles Mudge, one of 16 investors who hope to open the park on 100 acres near the intersection of Ida West and Wells roads, said the group plans to submit a site plan soon.
Mr. Mudge said the group is planning to close on the property in July, but will use it only for recreational purposes among investors, unless they are granted special approval to develop a private park.
No decisions have yet been made by the township, Mr. Appleman said. The township's public meeting will continue at 7:30 p.m. July 8 at the Ida Township government building, 3016 Lewis Avenue.
