To add a personal touch to their Christmas trees, youths and their parents had an opportunity to make their own ornaments during an activity at the Summerfield-Petersburg Branch Library. Among those making the keepsakes were Marylinn Linenkugel, who with son Brendan, 5, try to speed along the drying process; the Linenkugels are from Petersburg.

Decorating their ornament are Austin, 8, and his sister Alexandria Ausmus, of Summerfield. Each week the library on East Center Street in Petersburg offers an ornament activity; the decorations will be on display for the library's parade of trees this month.
