The organizing committee of the sixth annual Monroe Fine Arts Festival, sponsored by the downtown Monroe Business Network, is seeking painters, printmakers, photographers, wood carvers, stained glass artists, jewelry makers, potters and other artists to participate in this year s festival.
The festival will be10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 8 and noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 9.
Booth rental is $100 around Loranger Square on East First Street and Washington in downtown Monroe. Electricity is available upon request; chairs and tables can be rented for a small fee.

The eighth annual River Raisin Jazz Festival is the same weekend two blocks away at St. Mary s Park in downtown Monroe. Free shuttle service is available between the two festivals.
