The 5th annual Motorcycle Ride to benefit Holiday Camp will be May 30. The ride, sponsored by the Law Dogs of Monroe, begins and ends at Cabela s, 110 Cabela Blvd. in Dundee. Solo rider fee is $25, $35 for a rider and passenger. Registration starts at 10 a.m. and the ride begins at 12:30 p.m. Registration includes a continental breakfast, a police-escorted 50-70 mile ride, door prizes, raffles, music, and hamburgers and hot dogs after the ride. Victoria Gardens, 102 West Adrian Road, will present a Teddy Bear Show with a twist: Teddy cats. Mary Ann Racheau is introducing a tribute to Cats, one of the most famous shows ever to hit Broadway with her new line of Teddy Cats, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. May 30 at the store. Each Teddy Cat will be accompanied by a free gift, a copy of T.S. Elliot s Old Possum s Book of Practical Cats, the poetry on which the Broadway songs were based.
The Toledo Astronomical Association in cooperation with the Olander and Park Systems will conduct public viewing at Sylvan Prairie (off Brint just west of Centennial) from 9-11:30 p.m. May 29, weather permitting. Saturn will be the principal object of interest. The relative position of Earth and Saturn are such that Saturn s rings have largely disappeared. The rings will appear as a black line across the face of the planet and a brighter line on either side of the planet. This event occurs approximately every 13 years.
