Maple syrup history told at Monroe museum's post

MONROE — The history of maple syrup will be told from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Monroe County Historical Museum's Navarre-Anderson Trading Post.

Highlights of Maple Sugar Day include a re-created 1790s maple sugar camp where visitors can watch as living historians tap maple trees and make sugar in the tradition of 18th-century French settlers.

The complex is at 3775 North Custer Rd.
