‘Rose Run' to kick off Community Day
PETERSBURG — The 4th annual Rose Run 5k event will kick off Community Day here July 21. The Rose Run began in 2009 after Petersburg resident Rose Marie Hunt died of breast cancer. It has raised more than $31,000 for research, treatment, and other charitable causes.
This year all proceeds will be donated to the University of Michigan Cancer Care Center and the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department.
Participants can walk or run. The Rose Run also has a 1k fun run for children, said Jessica Cribbs, event founder and race director.
Register online at theroserun.com. The Rose Run starts at 8:30 a.m.; registration starts an hour earlier.
