Ohio State senior Jantel Lavender was named the Big Ten's preseason player of the year in a unanimous vote by the coaches and media.

Lavender is joined on the preseason All-Big Ten team by Ohio State junior guard Samantha Prahalis.
The Buckeyes, who return all five starters after going 31-5 last season, open the 2010-11 schedule on Nov. 12 by playing Temple in Philadelphia.
