If the first two days of December are any indication, my holiday season is going to be jam-packed with fun and food.
My husband donned his Navy tuxedo on Saturday and escorted me to the Toledo Country Club for its annual Holly Ball.
As guests of Ann Sanford, we made merry with some notable Perrysburg folks, including Walt and Lois Churchill of their family namesake grocery chain, and new Waterford Bank branch manager Glenn Paton and wife Lori Paton, who recently led the Country Garden Club of Perrysburg's effort to illuminate the historic downtown area for the holidays.
On Sunday, we happily sat through Toledo Repertoire's musical production of the classic Charles Dickens tale "A Christmas Carol" at the Valentine Theatre in downtown Toledo.
Paul Causman conveyed the full emotional range of Ebenezer Scrooge's transformation from bitter miser to generous benefactor, and I was thrilled to see fellow Anthony Wayne High School graduate Heath Huber portray the plucky Bob Cratchit.
