Man struck by hit-and-run driver in Perrysburg Township

A 33-year-old Perrysburg man who was walking on Oregon Road in Perrysburg Township was struck by a hit-and-run driver Tuesday evening, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Robert F. Leonhardt was walking north on the shoulder along the east side of Oregon Road, south of State Rt. 795, in Perrysburg Township about 8:30 p.m., according to the patrol's Bowling Green post.

A dark colored, older model sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry or Corolla, struck Mr. Leonhardt and fled the scene, the patrol reported.

He sustained serious, non-life threatening injuries and was transported by a relative to Mercy St. Charles Hospital, which called the patrol at 10:45 p.m.

The vehicle should have damage on the front passenger side and possibly the passenger side mirror. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information is asked to call the Bowling Green post at 419-352-2481.
