Griffin's Hines Farm serves up BBQ, blues

Jam the night away with BBQ and Blues at Griffin's Hines Farm Saturday. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the music begins at 7. Admission is $12.

The event will feature live entertainment throughout the night, including local acts Blind Bobby Smith, the Blue Flamingos and Buddy Boy Slim, and the Blues Rockers. The house will serve up its specialty of barbecue and catfish. The farm is at 3950 S. Berkey Southern Road (State Rt. 295). Information:

Folk singer, author, and activist Judy Collins will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday at Authors! Authors! at the Stranahan Theater, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd.

Collins, 72, will discuss her new biography Sweet Judy Blue Eyes and her long career in music at tonight's event. She also will autograph books. Tickets are $10; $8 for students. Tickets are available at Toledo-Lucas County Library branches and at the door. Books may be purchased at the event. Seating is on a first-come basis. Information: 419-259-5266.
