Ye Olde Cock n' Bull Tavern at 9 N. Huron in Toledo.
Address: 9 N. Huron
Origin of name: The name stems from the owner's desire for a quirky, urban-style name that would immediately let potential guests know they were walking into a relaxed, fun, and friendly pub that doesn't take itself too seriously. The old saying "cock n' bull," meaning a tall tale or exaggeration popped out and it stuck.
What makes your place unique? The goal was to create a comfortable place for the people who live and work in and near downtown, but welcoming to all. We all remember having a neighborhood hangout that was home. Bored on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon? Head down to your bar and catch a game on TV or hang out on the patio with a cool drink. But the Cock n' Bull is also so much more. Coming downtown for a Mud Hens or Walleye game? We're right across from the main gate to Fifth Third Field and steps away from the Huntington Center. Where better to get a quick bite or try one of 34 draught beers before or after the game? Stop in and kill a little time while the traffic clears. We also feature live music.
Clientele: The Cock n' Bull wants to carve out a niche as the local watering hole for the growing number of downtown and nearby residents. But don't think if you don't live downtown you won't feel welcome; the friendly crowd and staff make everybody feel like a neighbor.
Entertainment: The Cock n' Bull has live music every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and will add more days soon. The very best in local and regional musicians, with no cover charge.
Upcoming events: Thursdays at 9 p.m., Breaking Ground; Fridays at 6 p.m. John Barile and Bobby May, Fridays and Saturdays at 9:30 p.m., various artists, and Sundays at 7 p.m. Danny Mettler.
