Police seek suspect in Andersons heist

Maumee police are looking for Kirk Taberner, 42, who is charged with the aggravated robbery of The Andersons, 530 Illinois Ave., on Oct. 19.

Store employees saw a man take air-gun pellets and walk out of the store about 4 p.m., Sgt. Gayle Lohrbach said.

When the employees confronted the man outside, he pulled out what appeared to be a revolver. “He held it in the air and fled on foot,” the sergeant said. “It may be an air pistol, but it looked like a real gun.” No shots were fired.

The suspect fled in a white Oldsmobile. The suspect was seen in an apartment complex on Oct. 22, but was able to flee.

Police think the suspect is in the Heatherdowns Boulevard-Perrysburg-Holland Road area. Anyone with information about Mr. Taberner is asked to call the Crime Stopper program at 255-1111.
