Thieves lift large amount of cigarettes in 3 break-ins

Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about three break-ins that resulted in the theft of large amounts of cigarettes.

The burglaries occurred at:

  • The Smoke Shack, 5235 Dorr St., Oct. 4.

  • Manhattan Stop, 1708 East Manhattan Blvd., Nov. 1.

  • Clark gas station, 3070 Airport Hwy, Nov. 5.

In the first two cases, entry was gained through holes in cinder block or concrete. At the gas station, somebody pried an exterior wall panel from a corner of the building.

In addition to cigarettes, a number of instant lottery tickets were stolen from the Manhattan Stop. Some were recovered Tuesday in an alley near the 700 block of Willard Street.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stopper program. Callers may remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward.
