Chunk of skin left behind at W. Alexis Rd. break-in

Snakes shed their skins and, in Toledo, some burglars do too.

A large piece of skin was left behind during a break-in Sept. 26 at Battery Wholesale, 1515 West Alexis Rd. Toledo police detectives are going to have the skin analyzed for DNA, but yesterday they issued an arrest warrant for a Toledo man, charging him with the crime.

Donald A. Winter, 42, who has no permanent address, was being sought on one count of breaking and entering.

Investigators said he broke into the business and took a small amount of change.
