Oak Harbor man faces 6 felony theft counts

PORT CLINTON — An Oak Harbor man has been indicted on six felony counts related to the misuse of thousands of dollars from a condominium association.

Gene Stone, 51, is charged with two counts of theft of more than $100,000, a third-degree felony. He also faces four counts of theft of $5,000 to $100,000, a fourth-degree felony.

Authorities allege that Mr. Stone misspent thousands of dollars belonging to the La Marin Condominium Association from March, 1997, through March, 2001. During that time, Mr. Stone was the association's property manager.

He is scheduled to appear April 21 in Ottawa County Common Pleas Court.
