Hillsdale man charged with sexual offense

HILLSDALE — A local man is in the Hillsdale County jail after he was arrested Monday on criminal sexual conduct charges.

Towana Tyrone Wortham, 31, was arraigned in Hillsdale District Court on one count each of first-degree home invasion and first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Michigan State Police said Mr. Wortham, who recently moved to Hillsdale with his wife, allegedly entered the home of a female acquaintance April 14 and assaulted her.

He remains in jail in lieu of $35,000 bond.
