LIMA, Ohio - A Toledo man was arrested last night after traveling here to meet with what he thought was a 14-year-old girl, Lima police said.
Instead, Shawn Horvath, 25, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. in east Lima by a Lima police officer after arriving at a rendezvous site, Lima police Investigator Jeff Kinkle said.
Mr. Horvath initiated contact on an Ohio Internet chat room with a Lima police officer posing as a 14-year-old girl. The Internet exchange between the two went on for about a week, police said.
Mr. Horvath, allegedly told the officer online he wanted to come to Lima and meet for sex. He was charged with importuning, a felony. He was being held in the Allen County jail pending arraignment today in Lima Municipal Court.
