Burglary suspects held after chase

Three men, at least one of whom is from Toledo, have been arrested, accused of breaking into a house Wednesday in the 12300 block of Fort Meigs Boulevard in the Perrysburg Heights and assaulting its residents, Perrysburg Township police said.

The victims, whose names were not released, were treated at St. Luke's Hospital - one for knife cuts to the hand, police said.

Gerald L. Riley, 34, of 1554 Avondale Ave., was charged with aggravated burglary and booked into the Wood County Justice Center, where he was being held in lieu of a $25,000 bond. The identities of the other two men arrested were not released.

Police were looking for a fourth man they said also took part in the burglary.

The victims called police shortly after 4 a.m. to report an armed burglary by four masked men.

Mr. Riley, who was driving the getaway car, was arrested a short time later after leading police on a chase to I-75 and U.S. 20, where two men fled from the car down an embankment, police said.

Officers soon found one of them hiding in a trash Dumpster near Jed's Bar & Grill. A canine unit tracked the other one to the bushes near Fricker's restaurant.

A handgun was found along I-75 near U.S. 20, police said.
