Toledo police look for pair who beat man

Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about an assault that left a 48-year-old man hurt seriously.

Two assailants knocked David Ziss to the ground and repeatedly kicked him in his head and body about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at 958 Colburn St. They fled when a neighbor yelled at them, police said. Mr. Ziss was in critical condition last night in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. One of the assailants was described as a black man, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with a thin build.

Anyone with information about the assailants or the assault is asked to call the Crime Stopper program or investigators at 419-245-3142. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
