Toledo police issued 1,716 citations and made 19 drunken-driving arrests during a recent citywide enforcement effort in which officers focused on impaired drivers.
Police participated in the Ohio Department of Public Safety's “You Drink and Drive, You Lose” campaign from June 27 through July 13.
Officers issued 199 seat belt/restraint citations and logged 285 speeding violations. They handed out 301 citations for people driving with suspended or revoked licenses and made six felony arrests.
