HOYTVILLE, Ohio - Two piles of straw bales burned in south Wood County last night - one near Cygnet and Range Line roads in Jackson Township, and the other near Cygnet and Potter roads in Henry Township, authorities said.
The fires were reported about 8 p.m. It was unclear how many straw bales were burning, authorities said.
Hoytville and North Baltimore fire crews arrived at the scenes of the Jackson Township and Henry Township fires, respectively, and each elected to let the blazes burn themselves out.
They said they expected it would take at least three hours for that to occur.
The causes of the fires and dollar estimates of the loss were not available late last night, authorities said.
