HILLSDALE — The Michigan State Police are warning Hillsdale County residents to avoid giving any personal or financial information to telephone solicitors.
Troopers at the Jonesville post said several elderly residents have received telephone calls from someone claiming to be with a banking institution. The caller requests name, address, and bank account numbers under the guise that the information is needed to update or correct the bank's computer system.
Authorities advised citizens personal information should never be given to anyone who might contact them.
