Toledo police continued to search yesterday for a suspect who pistol-whipped a 74-year-old barber at his storefront barbershop in the 3100 block of Lagrange Street on Monday.
Daniel Wozniak said a man walked into his store about 11:45 a.m. and asked a question before producing a black pistol and demanding money. The suspect ordered Mr. Wozniak on the floor but hit him with the gun when he ordered the barber to move.
The suspect took Mr. Wozniak's wallet before telling him to go to the basement. There he used packing tape to wrap up his wrists and face before fleeing.
Mr. Wozniak broke free from the tape, broke open the locked basement door, and went next door for help.
