Toledo man is indicted in carryout robbery case

A Toledo man accused of firing a gun at a clerk during a robbery at an East Toledo carryout was indicted yesterday by a Lucas County grand jury.

Raymond Toda, 30, of 1079 Utah St., was indicted on one count each of aggravated robbery, attempted murder, and felonious assault. He is being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $300,000.

Authorities said David Dawod, 43, a clerk at Wag's Party Store, 422 Steadman St., was injured Jan. 24 when a masked gunman entered the store, demanded money, and fired a gun, grazing Mr. Dawod's ear and neck.

The gunman fled without taking any cash from the victim.
