The St. Louis County (Mo.) Medical Examiner's office is looking for Toledo-area relatives of a man who died earlier this month.
Steven Bickford, 52, was walking on I-70 when he was hit by a vehicle on March 7, said Randy Hayes, an investigator with the medical examiner's office.
Mr. Hayes said Mr. Bickford, who appeared to be hitchhiking, died at the scene.
Mr. Hayes said Mr. Bickford was identified through information on him and medical records from the Marines. He said those records stated that he was a resident of Toledo and the son of Ray and Thora Bickford.
"We're not trying to make anyone obligated for him. We just want to notify the family."
Mr. Hayes said Mr. Bickford was carrying a military-type duffle bag at the time of the accident.
He said he did not know how long Mr. Bickford had been in the area.
He said anyone with information about Mr. Bickford's family can contact the medical examiner's office at 314-613-7097.
