ADRIAN - An Adrian man is expected to be arraigned in Lenawee County Circuit Court today on domestic assault and firearms charges after a standoff with Adrian police Sunday night.
Police were called to the 400 block of Erie Street at 8:10 p.m. by the girlfriend of Ricardo Nickerson, 41. She met police on the sidewalk in front of the home they share. She told police her boyfriend had assaulted her and that he kept a loaded shotgun in the house, said Lt. Tom Ray.
Members of the Lenawee County emergency response team were called to the scene after Mr. Nickerson refused to leave the house. He surrendered at 11 p.m. without incident after members of the team talked with him by phone, Lieutenant Ray said.
Mr. Nickerson was charged with domestic assault, possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm while committing a felony, Lieutenant Ray said.
