More than 300 vehicles stopped at checkpoint

More than 1,500 vehicles passed through a recent sobriety checkpoint in North Toledo, but no drunken-driving arrests were made.

Toledo police checked 333 vehicles in the eastbound lanes of West Alexis Road between Gage Road and Lewis Avenue last Friday night and early Saturday morning.

Officers issued 11 citations to drivers who didn't have licenses, four tickets to drivers with suspended licenses, and 1 citation for a seat belt violation.

They handed out 14 other citations, seized four vehicles, and made two adult misdemeanor arrests.
