9-year-old girl's attacker sought

Lucas County sheriff's detectives are looking for information to identify a man who grabbed a 9-year-old girl's arm from his vehicle after he asked her for directions to a school.

The girl was at South Avenue and Dorcas Road in Springfield Township about 8 p.m. Wednesday when the man asked her for directions to Holland School.

She stayed about three feet away from his vehicle, reports indicate.

The man told the child that a girl had taken his pants and underwear.

Deputies said he tried to get the child to move closer to his vehicle to show her, but she refused.

After she gave him directions, he lunged out of the vehicle's window and grabbed her arm.

The girl managed to flee, investigators said.

The man was described as white, in his 20s, 5 feet, 5 inches to 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and he had brown hair and brown eyes.

He was in a four-door, metallic bluish-silver Chrysler-made automobile.

Anyone with information about the incident, the man, or the vehicle is asked to call sheriff's detectives at 419-213-4920 or the Crime Stopper program at 419-255-1111.
