Police seek information on laundromat robbery

Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about a man who robbed a West Toledo laundromat last week.

The robber entered Marathon Laundry, 1559 West Sylvania Ave., on July 20, showed a gun to an employee, and demanded she put cash into a bag. He then ran from the business, police said.

The man was described as black, in his 20s, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds. He was wearing a red rag on his head, a white T-shirt, and baggy blue jeans.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stopper. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.

The Crime Stopper committee announced its latest rewards for tips that led police to suspects in various cases, including robberies, stolen cars, and kidnapping.

The rewards, which total about $3,500, go to callers A9384, A9527, A9595, A9643, A9693, A9701, and A9766.

They are asked to contact the Crime Stopper program to collect their rewards.
