Maumee police search for vandals

Maumee police are searching for vandals who smashed several items and tossed dozens of deck chairs into the Rolf Park pool early Thursday morning.

When officers went to the pool during a routine patrol, they found 40 chairs, three lifeguard stands, clocks, a broken umbrella, and a garbage can thrown into the water. The vandals also broke six lounge chairs and four clocks, threw chairs over the fence into a lawn area, and burned a wall sign near the concession stand.

Police found a red Schwinn bicycle and a purple Huffy bicycle at the pool and are keeping them at the station until they are linked to the crime or residents who accidentally left the bikes at the pool claim them.
