Members of the Lucas County DUI Task Force made eight drunken-driving arrests and issued 65 speeding tickets during blitzes that targeted impaired drivers each weekend in July.
Authorities made 178 traffic stops. They handed out 12 seat belt citations, 12 violations for suspended or revoked licenses, and 44 warnings.
They worked overtime throughout the county. The effort was funded with a $132,091 grant from the Ohio Department of Public Safety.
The task force will continue the effort each weekend this month.
