The body of an elderly woman was found yesterday in the bathroom of a central Toledo home, and authorities said she could have been dead since August.
Her name was not being released because her relatives had not been notified.
Police were sent to the woman s home at 111 Wellington St. shortly before 7 p.m. after a friend, who had not seen her in some time, called authorities and asked them to check on her safety, said Steve Kahle, an investigator for the Lucas County coroner s office.
Neighbors said they last saw her in August.
The body was in advanced stages of mummification and
decomposition, Mr. Kahle said.
The death did not appear to be suspicious. The coroner s office will do an autopsy today.
