A Gino's pizza shop in West Toledo was robbed of an undetermined amount of money when an employee was coming into work yesterday, police said.
Richard Schoenegge was coming into the shop, 1280 West Alexis Rd., about 7 a.m. when two suspects followed him into the back door of the restaurant, where a manager, John Burgin, also was working.
Both suspects had handguns and demanded money from the safe. One of them hit Mr. Schoenegge in the face with a silver revolver and told him not to look at him. The other had an automatic pistol, police said.
Both fled out the rear door through the lot and into a nearby mobile home park, where their footprints in the snow ended where tire tracks began.
Mr. Schoenegge was taken to St. Anne Mercy Hospital for treatment, authorities said.
