LIMA, Ohio - A 25-year-old Lima man was charged yesterday with one count of importuning after he tried to lure a police office posing as a teenager on the Internet into meeting for a sexual encounter.
Michael Robinson of West Vine Street was arrested at
1:30 p.m. at an undisclosed Lima site, police reported. Mr. Robinson had used a computer at the Lima Public Library to contact a person he thought was a 14-year-old girl but who was actually an undercover officer with the department's proactive crime enforcement unit.
They arranged to meet at the site after Mr. Robinson asked if the girl would be interested in having sex with him, police investigator Jeff Kinkle said. Mr. Robinson is to be arraigned this morning in Lima Municipal Court.
