Toledo man indicted in alcohol-related fatality

A Toledo man was indicted yesterday for an alcohol-related accident that killed the passenger on his motorcycle.

Kirk M. Kaczmarek, 39, of 2616 Scottwood Ave. was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury on a count of aggravated vehicular homicide.

Michelle Wiechman, 28, of 10576 Eckel Junction Rd., Perrysburg Township, died in the Aug. 1 accident in the 2500 block of South Reynolds Road near the Ohio Turnpike.

Mr. Kaczmarek was southbound on Reynolds when he struck a concrete median and a steel pole. He and Ms. Wiechman were thrown from the bike. They were not wearing helmets. Mr. Kaczmarek's blood-alcohol content was 0.246 per cent, more than three times the legal limit in Ohio for a motorist.
