A Toledo man accused of robbing a South Toledo bank this week couldn't elude police by hiding in a closet.
Leroy Sprague, 35, who has various Toledo addresses, was arrested early yesterday after officers tracked him to 1657 Nebraska Ave. and kicked in the back door when no one answered their knocks. They searched the residence and found him in one of the dwelling's closets.
He was being held in the Lucas County jail without bond pending arraignment Monday in Toledo Municipal Court. He is charged with aggravated robbery and several unrelated offenses.
He is accused of robbing the KeyBank branch, 1612 Broadway, on Monday after passing a teller a demand note that also stated he had a gun.
He fled with $822, court records indicate.
