Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about a fatal shooting this month that investigators believe occurred in the 700 block of Tecumseh Street.
Brian Hoskins, 41, of Woodland Avenue was in a light green Toyota Tercel when it crashed about 7:15 a.m. Feb. 1 at City Park and Nebraska avenues.
The car collided with a pickup, left the road, and stopped on a sidewalk along Nebraska, police said.
Fire personnel discovered that Hoskins, who was unconscious, was shot in the chest. Police also saw bullet holes in the rear and driver's side of the car.
Hoskins died 30 minutes later in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.
Officers checked a report of shots fired in the area of Ewing Street and Tecumseh shortly before the accident but found nothing. Investigators believe someone possibly shot into the car Hoskins was driving.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Crime Stopper program.
Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
