Port Clinton man pleads not guilty in teen s death

PORT CLINTON A Port Clinton man has pleaded not guilty to charges that he caused the death of a teenager in an ATV accident last fall.

Joshua Kohlman, 19, had a pretrial hearing Monday in Ottawa County Municipal Court on charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular manslaughter, both misdemeanors. He was ordered to stand trial, but a date has not been set.

He was riding an ATV on Little Portage Road in Bay Township Nov. 23 when it ran into the rear of another ATV operated by Arin Dooley, 21, of Port Clinton. Jacob Lee Hefflinger, a passenger on Mr. Dooley s vehicle, died the next day in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.
