Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about a 1991 murder of a Genoa woman whose body was found in the trunk of her car nearly two weeks after she vanished.
Maryjane Zich, 27, was reported missing by her husband to the Ottawa County sheriff's department Dec. 7, 1991.
Acting on a tip, Toledo police located her 1985 Mercury Marquis in the 400 block of Greenwood Avenue Dec. 18. They forced open the trunk and found Ms. Zich's body. She apparently had been strangled.
Neighbors told the police at the time they believed the car had been in the area for several days.
Anyone with information on this or any other unsolved case is asked to call the Crime Stopper program at 419-255-1111. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
