Toledoan shot in quarrel over car blocking traffic

A Toledo man was shot and wounded on Junction Avenue near Indiana Avenue last night during a traffic dispute, police said.

Lamar Richardson, 32, of Ravine Park Village, was admitted to Toledo Hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. His condition was not available.

Toledo police Detective Tim Campbell said officers found the vehicle that left the scene of the shooting and arrested Charles Thomas, 69, of 1326 Prospect Ave., at his residence. He was charged with felonious assault and booked at the Lucas County jail.

According to Detective Campbell, two men got into a quarrel over a vehicle blocking traffic on Junction about 6:30 p.m. Mr. Richardson got out of his car and approached Mr. Thomas, who was seated in his vehicle.

After heated words were exchanged, Mr. Richardson was felled by a gunshot, the detective said.
