Local and state law enforcement agencies plan a two-week effort to enforce seat-belt laws.

The statewide What s Holding You Back? Click It or Ticket campaign runs from Monday through June 5.

Toledo police will focus on speeding, failure to wear seat belts, and other traffic violations. The Lucas County sheriff s office will target State Rt. 2, U.S. 24, U.S. 20 (Central Avenue), and other high-traffic areas.

During last year s campaign, Ohio s rate of seat belt use reached an all-time high of 74.6 percent. The rate in Lucas County is about 75 percent, according to the Lucas County Traffic Safety/Safe Communities Program.
