Bond set at $10,000 for suspect in break-in

BOWLING GREEN Bond was set at $10,000 yesterday in Bowling Green Municipal Court for a man from the Toledo suburb of Holland arrested in a break-in and police chase that spanned two counties.

William Brewer, 37, of 168 Cross Path Rd., was charged with breaking and entering. He is being held in the Wood County jail.

Bowling Green police were called to the Gas Express station on South Main Street about 5:30 a.m. Monday where they spotted someone leaving the station. Police chased the suspect west on U.S. 6, and Henry County sheriff s deputies took up the pursuit when the car reached Henry County.

Police impounded the car, which was abandoned after running out of gas, and issued a warrant for Mr. Brewer, who was picked up by Lucas County sheriff s deputies. Police said they recovered more than $1,500 in cigarettes that were taken from the store.
