Gilboa woman charged in threat to kill husband

OTTAWA, Ohio Putnam County sheriff s deputies yesterday arrested Tammie J. Varner, 40, of Gilboa, Ohio, and charged her with conspiracy to commit murder in connection with a plan to kill her estranged husband.

Deputies said they learned of the plot after Darryl Varner of Continental, Ohio, her estranged husband, reported the brake lines on his vehicle had been cut.

An undercover deputy met with Ms. Varner yesterday, during which she allegedly provided details of her plan and offered money to have him gone forever, deputies said.

Ms. Varner was in the Putnam County jail last night in lieu of $250,000 bond. She will appear today in Putnam County Court.
