Grand jury indicts man in shaken-baby incident

A 21-year-old Northwood man accused of hurting his girlfriend s 9-month-old baby in what police described as a shaken-baby case was indicted yesterday by a Lucas County grand jury.

Derek Harrington, of 4033 Wise St., was indicted on one count of endangering children. He was being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.

Jacob Zunk was taken to Toledo Hospital Sept. 27 by his grandmother after he became ill in his home at 4437 Bellevista Drive.

Authorities said the infant suffered a fractured skull, retinal hemorrhaging, and bleeding in his brain.
