Gunman takes money from city laundromat

A suspect made off with an undetermined amount of money from the Hill Avenue Laundromat at 6218 Hill Ave. early yesterday, police said.

The man walked into the establishment about 9:20 a.m., threw a plastic bag on the counter, pointed a gun at the clerk, and ordered her to put money in the bag, police said. When the clerk didn t comply, he walked into the employees area and repeated his demand.

John Finck, the owner of the business, ran out of the building and contacted the police, authorities said. Officers interviewed witnesses, but no arrest was made. The case remained under investigation yesterday.
