Thieves take money from pizza shop, beat owner

Two men made off with an undetermined amount of money and credit receipts after robbing a Cottage Inn Pizza, 1122 North Byrne Rd., early yesterday.

The thugs walked into the restaurant about 1:13 a.m. and ordered a pizza.

One of the men told the owner that he had a gun and ordered him to open the restaurant s safe.

The owner complied and gave the man money from the safe. Afterward, the man punched and kicked the owner before both robbers escaped in an vehicle parked outside the restaurant.
