Hancock County inmate who collapsed in jail cell dies

FINDLAY The Hancock County coroner has not ruled on the cause of death of an inmate found collapsed in her cell at the Hancock County jail Wednesday.

Lisa F. Waddell, 43, was pronounced dead at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center at 3:20 a.m., shortly after she was discovered by a corrections officer.

They d been watching her. She d been sick, Sheriff Michael Heldman said. She was under a doctor s care.

A spokesman for Dr. Leroy Schroeder, Hancock County coroner, said an autopsy was performed in Lucas County, but results were not available yesterday. Sheriff Heldman said Waddell was to be sentenced next week for a felonious assault conviction.
