Toledo Metro Drug Task Force makes multiple drug seizures


A Springfield Township carry-out owner was arrested by the Toledo Metro Drug Task Force this morning after authorities said he was selling prescription drugs and cocaine out of his North McCord Rd. store.

Guirguis Ragheb, 34, 3290 County Road J, Swanton, was charged with 12 counts of trafficking in drugs during a bust about 6:30 a.m. at the store, Chablis Quick Stop at 1801 North McCord.

The arrest comes after a more than year-long investigation by the Toledo Metro Drug Task Force, in which authorities purchased drugs over the counter. Authorities also found additional drugs and between $40,000-$50,000 at the store during a search this morning.

Yesterday, the task force arrested two Toledo men and seized 140 pounds of marijuana, two handguns, and $6,000 cash from a home at 820 South Briar St. in Toledo. The marijuana had an estimated street value of $224,000 along with two handguns.

Arrested were Omar M. Asad, 18, of 820 SouthBriar, and Timothy Teneyck, 19, of 621 Forsythe St. Both men were charged with trafficking in marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mr. Asad was also charged with felonious assault on an outstanding warrant that originally triggered the arrestes. The U.S. Marshal Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force went to the South Briar location to arrest the suspect and discovered the marijuana.

The U.S. Marshal Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force includes the Marshal Service, U.S. Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Lucas County Sheriff's Office, Sandusky/Perkins police department, and Toledo police.

The Toledo Metro Drug Task Force includes the FBI, the Secret Service, ATF, Toledo police, Lucas County Sheriff's Office, and Washington Township police.
